Connect and follow

Ask someone to connect, answer a request, and stop being connected.

A follow is one way and needs no yes. A connection is mutual: you can message each other only after the other person says yes. You and the other person must have passed the ID check.

1. Open a person's page and press Connect. Add a short note if you like. Press Send connection request.

2. Open Connections from the menu. Your request shows under Requests you sent. It reads Sent, then Viewed when the other person opens the page.

3. To answer a request, open Connections. Under Requests for you, press Accept, Decline or Ignore. Report is there too. Connecting is not a job application or a job offer, and it shares nothing with them.

4. When you accept, a conversation opens. Press Message next to the person under Connections. Under your message you see Seen when the other person opened it. We never show that someone is typing.

5. A request nobody answers ends after 14 days. The person it waits on gets one reminder on day 11. You get a short notice that it ended, and you may send it again. Requests that are over stay under Requests that are over for 90 days. If you sent one, it reads Viewed until the day it would have run out, then Ended, whatever the reason. You may cancel it before then.

6. To stop being connected, open Connections and press Disconnect next to the person. Read what changes, then press Yes, disconnect. Your messages become a history you can read but not add to. Your jobs, applications, work records and shared documents stay as they are. They are not sent a notice.

To stop all contact, use Block on their page. Report is a separate choice.

To stop following someone, press Unfollow under Following. Only you see who you follow or saved.

Do you see That action is no longer available? Nothing changed. Open Connections to see what is current.
